The Visitor Centre

English  Cymraeg

The Visitor Centre was rebuilt in 2005, and was designed to be both environmentally friendly and blend in to the beautiful surroundings at Nant-yr-Arian.

A Visitor Centre heated by chips!

The Centre is heated by woodchips, a by-product of the nearby forestry operations.

The roof of the Centreis covered in Sedum, a succulent plant with fleshy leaves and stems. The Sedum filters rainwater, which is collected and stored. This water is used in the toilets, and in the bike washing station.

The Restaurant and Gift Shop

Inside, the restaurant serves home made food, cakes and a wide range of refreshments. You can eat in or outside on the viewing terrace. There is a well-stocked giftshop for a memento of your visit.

Outside

Outside the Centre, there is an adventure playground for the children. Close by there's the Virtual Bird Hide and a number of Viewing Platforms overlooking the lake.

Special Events

There are a number of events at the Visitor Centre throughout the year, see the Events page for current listings. We also host children's parties, please call us for more information.
